With over 30 years of experience, more than 500 acres acquired for commercial and residential development, and over $450 million in total development activity, our company has continually evolved to meet the needs of a growing region.
Today, we're excited to introduce the next evolution of our company: a new brand identity that reflects who we are, where we've been, and where we're headed.
A rebrand is more than a new logo - it is a reflection of a company's growth and future vision.
For years, we discussed updating our brand to better represent the organization we have become. The timing became clear as we prepared to move into our new headquarters at 160 Newtown. This move represents far more than a change of address; it marks the beginning of a new chapter for Miller Group and provides a physical home designed to support our future growth.
At the same time, our business has continued to expand across Hampton Roads. We've taken on larger, more complex projects that demonstrate both the scale of our capabilities and the confidence our clients place in us. Recent developments such as Fairwinds Landing and the 101,000-square-foot Dorman Products build-to-suit facility - our largest build-to-suit project to date - reflect the momentum we have built and the direction we are heading.
Simply put, our previous brand no longer fully represented the company we are today. The rebrand aligns our identity with our current capabilities, our ambitions, and our vision for the future.
As we began the branding process with Second Sight Creative, we established several key objectives.
Preserving the Name, Modernizing the Identity
One of our first decisions was to maintain the Miller Group name. The Miller name carries a strong reputation and deep roots within our community, making it an important part of our identity.
However, we chose to simplify the name by removing "The" from our branding. This subtle change creates greater design flexibility while aligning our official brand with how clients, partners, and team members commonly refer to us: Miller Group.
Creating a Recognizable Symbol
A major goal of the rebrand was to develop a distinctive logo mark that could stand on its own while remaining instantly recognizable.
The result is a modern icon inspired by the letter "M" - a clean, versatile symbol that represents Miller Group across a wide range of applications, from signage and vehicles to digital platforms and marketing materials.
Honoring Our Heritage
The new navy and gold color palette was intentionally selected to honor founder Jerry Miller's service in the United States Navy. These colors reflect both our history and the values that have guided the company from the beginning: integrity, commitment, and service.
Reflecting a Progressive Company
As our business continues to grow, we wanted a visual identity that reflects innovation, forward thinking, and momentum. The new brand presents a modern and progressive image while remaining grounded in the principles that have defined Miller Group for more than two decades.
The rebranding effort was led by the creative team at Second Sight, who worked closely with our leadership team to understand our history, culture, and long-term vision.
The process focused on creating an identity that balances heritage and progress - one that honors the company's foundation while positioning us for the opportunities ahead. Every element, from the logo mark to the typography and color palette, was carefully developed to create a cohesive brand that reflects who we are today.
While our look has changed, our commitment remains the same.
Miller Group will continue to deliver exceptional development, construction, and infrastructure solutions throughout Hampton Roads and beyond. Our new brand serves as a symbol of our continued growth, our expanding capabilities, and our confidence in the future.
